Palo Alto Online

In January of 1994, the Palo Alto Weekly became one of the first newspapers in the world to go online with its editorial content. Silicon Valley residents, workers and those who follow the community from all over the world have been reading the Weekly online ever since. What’s notable is that this was before the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, San Jose Mercury News, San Francisco Chronicle, just to name a few, went onto the Internet.

In September of 1996, the Palo Alto Weekly launched Palo Alto Online, the Midpeninsula’s most comprehensive information service. It’s the first place the online community looks to find current movie times and reviews, rental and housing information, restaurant listings and locations, updated listings of current activities for adults, families and kids, election information, school demographics, real estate sales listings ... you get the picture. Our sites are chock-full of desirable local content and attract monthly impressions in the hundreds of thousands.

In January of 1999, The Almanac went online followed by the Pleasanton Weekly in January of 2000 and the Mountain View Voice in February of 2000.

Palo Alto Online underwent a major renovation in September 2000.
